My dog Bocephus

My dog just had surgery Monday to have a foreign object removed from his belly. He came home today (friday), I fed him, he threw up 2 times. Now, he has a little blood coming from his mouth. It shows up in his water bowl. What should I do, wait it out or call the vet?

Dear Monica,

Thank you for writing to me about Bocephus.  This is a dire emergency.  Get your dog to you vet.  He is not supposed to have eaten a full meal after anesthesia and stomach surgery.  Something is terribly wrong.  He may be bloating and if blood is coming from his mouth there in internal bleeding.  Call you vet immediately or if there is an emergency hospital, rush him there.

Please have him seen immediately.
