amount of food for 6 year old cairn/schnauzer mix

I am currently feeding my 6 yr old cairn/schnauzer mix raw food (Brand: Raw Health) and also rotating with Wellness canned grain free wet food.  How much am I supposed to feed him?  How much should he weigh?  He weighs 27 lbs and is too big!  But, he also seems ravenous.  I thought when I switched to grain fee, raw food, he would be more satisifed but he doesnt seem to be.  Thanks!

Sorry this reply is late. I've been far too busy, but when I receive a whole bunch of urgent cases at once I need to respond quickly. This means volunteer work ha to wait, and I do apologize.

first of all, many dogs are hungry like this on low car food. It's a real craze right now, but the reality is that dogs are individuals just like humans, and some do best with the inclusion of carbohydrates. One of my own dogs is like this, he was hyperactive and very hungry on grainfree. I would suggest that the Raw Health is too low in carb for him. If you can send me a link to the food and also what his ideal weight would be I can help you more.

I prefer to see overweight dogs and anything with schnauzer in the genes to eat a balanced home made diet that includes some healthy fiber. But I'd need to know a bit more about your dog and about this food. Send me his weight, and the link, and I'll be able to reply with more detail tomorrow.
