Question
MY RECENTLY RESCUED, 8 YEAR OLD MALE POODLE HAS BAD BODY ODOR, EVEN AFTER MULTIPLE BATHS BY ME AND/OR GROOMER.  I RINSED HIM WITH BAKING SODA WATER, TO NO AVAIL.  I USE PRODENTAL DENTAL SOLUTION IN HIS DRINKING WATER, SO IT IS NOT HIS BREATH.  HELP!!!???

THANK YOU.

Answer
Hello Sara,
Some dogs just tend to have a bad smell due to excessive oils released through the skin.  This can be caused by genetics, or by the type of food that you use with him.  If you use a dog food with fish oils or other oils for the skin and coat, you may consider changing his food.  You can also bathe him with what they use for skunk smell.
Its Hydrogen Peroxide, Baking Soda and Dish Soap.
Hydrogen Peroxide 1 cup
Baking Soda       2 tsp
Dish Soap         Enough to sud up the dog
Do not keep this mixture in a closed bottle or it will explode.
Give it a try, but don't use it too often or it will dry the coat out.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
