my sweet pitbull ate the head off my kitten

Question
I've never seen my pit be the least bit agressive.  We've had the kitten about a month.  It took a little time but before long they were playing together, eating together and sleeping together and then last night she ate the entire head of my kitten...i have a 6 year old daughter that luvs the dog, plays with the dog and all that. Does this mean my pit may turn on us or my daughter as well.  We luv our dog, but if she turned on the kitten will she turn on my daughter.  Should we get rid of the dog.  please help, we dont' know what to do...she's like part of the family.  Thank you.

I see that you had them socialized together.... Don't know what triggered this.  Here is a link to a Pit Bull Forum with some great info.. Why don't you read what they have written on this subject.
Also, put a call into your vet for his/her opinion.
