daily schedule

Hello,
We got our young boys a black lab pup for Christmas. He is currently 7 months and he is so sweet. However he constantly wants to be playing with us. I homeschool and although we are happy to include him heavily into our day we just need to get some school work done. What is a healthy schedule for a black labs day?  His big brown eyes make me feel guilty for any length of time he is in his crate or tied outside.

My guess he is getting more attention than many dogs.  The school work, the boys, and the dog might all benefit form a short break every hour or 2.  A well bred Lab will adjust to long periods of down time.  After all, they were bred to wait quietly until the ducks came in and were shot.  A trait valued in the service dog area they dominate now.
