Question
is it possible to breed a father and a daughter together?  german sheperds of course.

Answer
Hi Albert,  What you are suggesting is called inbreeding, in fact yours would be technically called a father/daughter inbreeding and in GSDs, that is VERY bad.  What happens is that genetically you may double up the nice dominant genes, but you also double up the recessive genes that promote hip dysplasia, diabetes, von wihlbrands disease and a host of other very bad genetic faults in GSDs.  GSDs are one of the worst breeds for genetic faults from bad breeding.  If you want to breed, I would suggest getting an outside stud for your girl.  Studs are a dime a dozen, so it is not that hard to find one, especially in GSDs.  I would definitely have both parents checked for some of the genetic faults I listed above to make sure that you are not passing them on.  Hope this helps,
