Age of puppy?

Question
We purchased a German Shepherd puppy that was born on 9/11/2007.  That
would make him 15 1/2 weeks old.  I took him to the vet today and the vet
said the puppy is at least 19 weeks old.  He has all his adult incisors, adult
canines and 3 pre molars with the back 4th premolar just breaking in.  The
breeder stands by the age she gave me and says the vet is wrong.  Have you
ever seen a GSD with that many permanent teeth in at 15 1/2 weeks?  Thanks
for your time,  Jennifer

Answer
Pups usually don't start cutting adult teeth until they are four months old, or sixteen weeks. That is STARTING to cut adult teeth not having adult teeth by the mouthful.

That being said. Adult teeth coming in CAN be determined a lot by genetics. There are some bloodlines that can cut teeth earlier and some later. Don't jump to the conclusion that your breeder is lying just yet :)
