QuestionWe have a 6 month old Shepherd mix (we think husky mix). She (Casey) seems very attached to me over the rest of the family, so when my husband comes upstairs and lays down with me, Casey will just sit and bark at him. Also everytime someone walks down the street outside she barks at them, including if she's sitting outside also.
I don't have a problem with her barking to warn us, but it seems like she's barking all the time. Is there anything we can do to train her to stop with all the barking, without using a shock collar type option?
Thank you -- Nancy Holstein
AnswerHi Nancy, Try using a spray bottle filled with water and spray her in the face everytime she barks. Each time you do, tell her "no". Have several spray bottles around the house so that you can grab them quick and correct the dog quickly. If straight water doesn't work, add some white vinegar to the water. Hope this helps,
