QuestionHello!
I have a 6 1/2 male German Shepherd puppy whose left ear is still floppy and only stands up occasionally. His right ear is erect and has been for almost 2 months now. I am a little worried that his left ear will never stand up; however I am still hopeful because it stands erect sometimes. Do you think that it will eventually stand up? People have recommended me taping it up, but I have never done that before and I'm worried that I may "tape" it wrong.
I would appreciate any advice!
Thanks very much!

AnswerI suspect it likely will eventually stand without taping. You see very few adults whose ears aren't erect. I have never seen anything one way or the other on taping from a source I trust. When it comes to dogs, it is hard to sort out information you can count on. I have seen reports from people that did nothing and the ears finally stood up on their own as late as a year or even more.
I would suggest having him on an all life stages kibble and keeping him lean. You are more likely to struggle to keep the ribs hidden than have a Shepherd puppy get fat.
