Question
We have 2 GS male pups (Thor and Zeus) they are now 8 months old and we have had them since 6 weeks old, they have always been together and have the run of our acreage.
Thor has recently become very jealous of Zeus in as much as if we give Zeus any attention, Thor pushes in and starts to growl at Zeus. He hasnt bitten him or anything he just growls at him, what is the best way to stop this as I am worried it could get more aggressive and someone get hurt. We have never favoured one dog over the other

Answer
Hi Elkay
This isn't a jealousy issue it is a pack issue. Are your dogs neutered? They are at an age where they are going to begin to establish pack order and dominance. YOU need to be the alpha in your household and neither of them.
Type in alpha boot camp into your web browser and read , read and repeat. It's a wealth of information and will tell you how to establish pack order in your home.
Neuter your dogs if you have not.
Get them involved in an obedience class.
GEt them moving. Walk them briskly twice per day, preferably wearing packs. Working dogs need jobs, they need to work.
Run, or play them hard enough three times per week AT LEAST to make their tongues hang out. Play ball, play fetch.Let them pull you on a skateboard. Put up a tether ball and pole in your backyard if you have one, get them involved in dog sports. Start making them earn their food, praise, petting etc. They should sit before eating, or being petted. They should sit before being allowed into or out of a door. Get them toys that make them work to get treats out. These are HIGHY motivated intelligent dogs that need jobs in order to feel fulfilled. They need to learn a calm,. submissive state of mind and they need to have pack order firmly established. Both you,and they will LOVE obedience work. People make the mistake of thinking that if their dogs have large areas to run in they do not need formal exercise or walking. This is a HUGE mistake. Walk them, at heel, EVERY day. You'll be amazed at the change.
Good luck
