Question
QUESTION: HI, i am looking into getting a little Chi of my own. Although i need help deciding whether to get a female or to get a male? are females smaller than males generally? and which sex has a better temperament? please help me.
thanks

lauren

ANSWER: Hi Lauren - This is hard to say - I have always like to have females but I have met some great Males, too.
I have a Doggie Hotel and we get many males and females.....Hard to say who is more loving.

If you get a male make sure he is neutered.  He will be your best pal and by your side.  NOT neutered? He will be looking for a gal and running out the front door!

QUESTION: Hey, thankyou for your answer! u were loads of help! i do have just one more question. are female chihuahuas smaller than males?

Answer
Yes, they can tend to be a little smaller, but not much - 1 pound or less.
good luck to you...
Make sure you get one from a good breeder.
Ask the vets if they know of any good ones...
The girls that answer the phone will know even more than the vet about good breeders in your area..
