Question
WHAT INFORMATION CAN YOU GIVE ABOUT KNEE PROBLEMS & BLADDER STONES IN THE BREED OLDE ENGLISH BULLS. I HAVE A MALE 1/2 HAS THYROID PROBLESM & HAS HAD BLADDER STONES REMOVED AND CURRENTLY HAS A KNEE PROBLEM. HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT FINDING A VET THE SPECIALIZES WITH THESE DOGS? THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

Answer
There are no vets to my knowledge who specialize in Oldies. Thyroid and bladder stones are common in many breeders. Knee problems are very common in AKC Bulldogs. The surgery is extremely expensive and if you have one knee repaired, you can bet the other one will require it shortly thereafter.

My suggestion would be to contact the breeder who sold you the dog. Although bladder stones are something that can occur in any dog, thyroid problems are hereditary and poor knees may be as well.  Many breeders are using full AKC Bulldogs to breed into their Oldies to make them more "bully" looking and thereby making them more marketable. However, this also adds to the genetic issues plaguing the AKC Bulldogs to the Oldies.
