American bulldog wound

This particular dog has been itching at the side of his face for the last couple days and now it has swelled up but does not hurt him so it seems, it moves and feels full of liquid, I didn't know if it could be a cyst or a boil, or something imbedded, I am planning on taking him in, but would appreciate some insight, or a second opinion so to speak. It is starting to show a sore on the outside, it is not in the area of his mouth, it is up in the middle between his ear and corner of mouth.  Thanks so much for some help.

It sounds like an absess of some sort. Perhaps he got a puncture from another dog, cat, or an outside source?  Often times if a dog has ear mites, they will create areas like this because they can't scratch deep inside the ear.

A vet visit will provide answers I'm sure.
