questionable dog bite

I have a mixed pit bull. she is approx 1 year hold suppossedly bit a 16 yr old on bicycle-- we think that it was another dog but he states that it was ours-- is there any way to know for sure--

First question, was your dog loose when this supposedly happened? Can witnesses place your dog somewhere else at the time? If there's another similar dog in the neighborhood, perhaps you could get the person who got bitten to take a look at the other dog. Try to be sympathetic without caving in immediately. Offer possibilities and if the person is at all rational, perhaps he'll see things differently.

Best protection to keep this from ever happening again is to make sure your dog is contained in a secure enclosure or hooked at all times.  Best of luck.
