Question
Our 7 month old female boxer, Stella, is soaking wet when we come home after she has been placed in her crate. Whether if it is for 1 hour or 3 hours, when we get home she is full of slobber. We leave her some treats/toys to play with and she does not pee or poop in her crate, it is all just slobber to the point of her being drenched.  What is she doing when we are gone and what can we do to help Stella?

Answer
Hi Laura,

A few questions...

1.  What is your routine before you put her in the crate?
2.  How long, on average, is she in the crate?
3.  How many days per week is she crated?
4.  What is your routine upon coming home and letting her out?

How long have you had Stella?

You've already stated what she's doing in the crate...drooling.  Excessively.  It's most often caused by anxiety.  If you can answer my questions I'll be better able to help you come up with a plan to curb her nervousness.  :)

Please be patient...I work nights so if you answer this morning, I'll get to it this evening when I wake-up...if you answer this evening, I won't get to it until tomorrow when I get home from work.  :)
