QuestionHi i was just wondering how old a female has to be to breed. Also is there an age it would be better for the male to breed?
AnswerHi Angela,
The minimum age for breeding a Boxer is 2 years; that's the youngest age for some of the recommended health screening. (The full list of health screening procedures is here: http://www.americanboxerclub.org/health-screening.html)
Even then, however, some females are not mature enough at 2 years old (physically or mentally); Boxers are generally a slow-maturing breed and so often it's not until a bitch is 3 or so that she's really ready to have a litter.
I have some information and resources on breeding, as well as a number of questions to ask before making the decision, on my website:

Hope this helps!
