Strange Bumps appeared on Bruno

Question
My 6 month old Boxer, Bruno, started developing bumps on his skin today at about 2 pm.  You can see them because his hair is raised on those areas.  It is now 10pm and they are everywhere except his face and underside.  He is acting normally, eating, drinking, playing, etc.  He has begun to itch them quite often though.  I called the vet and she said to give him 25mg of Benadryl now and 25 more mg tomorrow morning.  They havent dissapeared or even diminished in quantity.  I have done research but am unsure what it is.  I can provide a picture if it helps.  Please help!

Answer
Hi Andrew,
I have seen this a few times in boxers. It is usually an allergic reaction to insect bites or vaccinations. We too gave Benadryl, be sure to watch Bruno and if you notice any shortness of breath or excess drooling go ahead and take him into the emergency vet immediately. The reaction does last quite awhile so its not unusual for the bumps to still be present and itchy. You might call the vet back and let them know the bumps are still present and ask if you can give him another dose of Benadryl. He should be fine tho, please let me know how Bruno's doing tomorrow,
Sincerely,
