Question

boxpup
good afternoon,

I want to buy a cute boxer puppy however the owner informed me that upon her first check up and vaccine, the vet detected a slight murmur. the pup has since been check at about 6wks and not murmur was detected. Isthis a major concern?

Also th puppy now 8wks has one brown eye and one slightly blue eye. What doesthis mean and will the eye turn brown asthe pup gets older?

thank you for your time

Answer
I haven't seen a two-eye colored Boxer before- and know of none.

White Boxers have brown eyes, as well as Fawn and Brindles.  Pups eyes are blue up until 4-5th week and turn brown- so having one brown and one blue is highly unusual although the blue eye might still turn brown.

A heart murmur can be normal and usually outgrown by 12-14 weeks old.

Since your vet re-checked and didn't hear a murmur the second time mens the pup outgrew it,

I would have a vet check on it and routine checkups every few months to be sure.

Get the health records of the mother and father and be sure they are healthy and have been healthy and that there is no interbreeding-- beware of what people tell you in order to sell a puppy- get proof.
