GROWLING AT MY DAD

Question
I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD BOXER JASEY. MY DAD HAS BEEN AROUND EVERY SINCE I'VE HAD HIM. THEN IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS WHEN DADDY COMES IN AND STARTS TO PET JASEY HE HAS A LOW GROWL, DUCKS HIS TAIL, AND THE HAIR RAISES ON HIS BACK. HE HAS NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE I'M AFRAID HE IS GOING TO TRY AND BIT HIM. MY HUSBAND SAID IF HE DIDN'T HAVE HIM THIS MORNING HE WOULD HAVE. WHAT'S GOING ON WITH HIM?

Answer
I hate to say this-- but dogs can turn on a person that has harmed them in some way. Maybe an incident had occurred between your dad and Jasey that you are not aware of.

Dogs don't simply become agitated with one person for no reason.

Something transpired between your dad and Jasey-- simple as that.

Unless-- by chance-- your dad has a new dog or cat at his home and has the new pet's smell on him and Jasey is reacting to that.

Otherwise, tell your dad to stay away from Jasey.
