Question
Hi Jannie, I would like to ask you. Can I get a 1 month old Boxer pup away from his mother? Actually me and my family are ready for a puppy, but we have only 1 month old puppy available in India... Should I get it or not? If yes, how should i take care of it, as it is a bit hot in India?
         THANKS....

Answer
One month old- which is only 4 weeks old is too young to be separated from his mother and litter. Not until he is at least 8-12 weeks old.

Secondly, I am a firm believer in not placing any breed in the ownership of people that know absolutely nothing about that breed or have no sense for caring for their dog properly, let alone any dog, especially a Boxer, in a hot weather condition.

India is NOT a proper country for any short-nosed breed such as a boxer. They get hotter than the average breed and cannot ever be comfortable.

Boxers should be outlawed in India because of this, just like American Pit Bulls are outlawed in many counties and states here in the US.

If you are insisting on getting this Boxer puppy, wait until it is old enough and learn ALL there is about Boxer breed:
