QuestionHello, I have decided to get another dog, I have a black lab (1 1/2 years old and spayed) and a jack russle terreir (7 months not neutered), I was thinking about getting another large dog like a lab or border collie but I think I'd be better off getting a small breed like a shiz tuz cross ot matltse cross, pomaprainX poddle cross something along those lines, it will most likely be a bichon/shiztuz cross, anyways I want to get a male because I don't think I can go thorugh the whole spay prossese again I hated having to take my beloved Haylie in and she was in pain afterwards for a short while and she had to wear a cone... it just wasnt nice. I'f I get a male do I need to get him neutered? will he get along with my russle(he doesnt like a friend golden/lab cross and shes spayed) thou he doesn't mind things like my rabbit/hedgehog and goes right up to sniff my birds cage, the pup would only be 6/8 weeks old, I don't want to get him then have to get rid of him shortly because of little Luke, let me know what you think, thanks.
AnswerFirst off. No one reputable breed mixed breed dogs i.e bichon /anything. The bichon is loaded with genetic problems i.e #1 breed for cataracts. Reputalbe breeder have at least 3 generations clear by CERF certification. So getting a puppy from a puppy mill / backyard breeder you are sure to get lots of health problems. Also no one reputable places puppies before 12 weeks of age. NOw for neuter. If you neuter early it will help with housebreaking. The bichon is very very difficult to housebreak.
