Scratching on face

Question
Hi,
I have a two year old Bichon who started scratching his little face until it bleeds. It was cleared up with a cone and steroids but three days ago it came back with a vengance! I took him to the vet today and they shaved off  his hair,   where he was scratching and it revealed more bloodly cuts.  They took some blood and are now doing allergy testing. He has put him on a vegeterian diet and more steroids. He has the cone back on but his poor liile face is all red and sore. Have you ever heard of this? Thank you

Answer
Yes I think steroids are NOT the answer they will tend to bring on other conditions with this breed such as cushings, etc.
Firstlt take the dog off ALL commercial food even dry food. then give him 2 omega 3,6,9 tabs daily for 3 weeks (Holland and Barratt)
Then give him oily fish every day such as salmon, pilchards, sardines, etc.
Give him ground oatmeal daily , mashed potatoes with a little cheese NO SALT
give him carrots, green beans, beans mixed, egg, apple, daily.

Supplements that he needs are
Cranberry tablets
Salmon oil or flax sed oil tablets
Glucosamine and chondratin tablets
lutein 6mg daily
omega 3,6,9 daily
fibre diet tablet daily

Give him raw chicken wing daily, liver once per two weeks, kidney once per two weeks, raw meaty bones from the butcher daily
