Run Away Beagle

Can you help me? I am beside myself as we have two beagles..one is 2 yrs.old and the other is 11 months.The little one(11 months) got out of the yard on Tuesday afternoon and now it is Saturday and he still is gone.I have located the SPCA,all the radio stations,put up posters with his picture but no Willie(that is his name) I have looked all over the internet to see if there was something else I can do to find him...but no luck yet.Can you tell me if you think Willie can't find his way home? Do you think they have such a great nose that he will eventually find his way home? What can I do Kenny? Please help me if you can

Beagles are great scent dogs but they are notorious for not being able to find their way home. Also, beagles being so adorable it may be that someone has taken him in. Did he have a collar and tag on? They may think he is a stray.
Did you put an ad in the paper? Almost every paper has a lost and found section that is free to run an ad. Where did you put the posters? I would suggest that you post them at the SPCA, Pet stores and vet's in the area. Most vet's have a community board. Also, look into putting up posters at local stores that sell pet supplies (Wal-mart, K-mart, Target). If anyone finds a dog they will need pet supplies.
I would also suggest that if you are able to get a microchip for your other beagle. It is the size of a grain of rice and is injected between their shoulder blades. You can ask your vet about it. Also, did Willie dig under the fence or get out of a gate?
