My beagle puppy

Question
I have this 7 month old beagle puppy. Her name is Bella and she is very nice, shy and very cute. We have big yard and my whole family spends time throughout the day with her. We do have work but do come home noon and after work to check on her. When I get off work I go home and play with her and my other year old beagle. I give them attention, play with them, take them to my room or living room, walk them around the neighborhood and to the small parks. Then later I allow them to run in my backyard so they two can bond. When I put her in the cage while I go on a short errand she poops in her kennel and doesnt mind the smell. I do not understand why she poops in her kennel after a long walk. She pees and she poops, but she poops in her kennel when I am gone for 40 minutes. What is the problem? Am i doing something wrong?

Answer
Hi Sarah, sorry to hear you are having this issue with your little beagle girl. Unfortunately I am probably the wrong person to ask this of because I personally don't believe in crating. Not that there is anything terrible about it but I just believe in teaching boundaries and limitations from the outset. I do not know much about how to deal with crating issues. Your complaint is one I have heard often but I do not know how to fix it. I can give you housebreaking info if you want however I am at a loss on this one. Perhaps another one of the Experts will have crate experience or you can search online about crating, I am sure there is a plethora of info on it. If you have any other behavioral issues you need help with let me know!  Best of luck!
