Question
have had charlie since 11 wks old wonderful dog fabulous with family.Over past year have had real issues with his behaviour to unfamiliar dogs.On the lead he sounds so vicious howling and barking and recently has turned on bigger dogs that come over to sniff him.Its upsetting as he is so lovely at home and no other problems but am so worried that if a larger dog does not appreciate being told to go away it could end up in a fight. He has caught a dog on the side of the face recently what should i do.

Thank You Lesley

Answer
Hi, you didnt mention how old he is now or if he is fixed or not. Regardless at this point if I understand correctly it sounds like he tried to bite another dog. This is what Cesar Milan would call a "red zone" case and he needs immediate hands on training with a professional trainer or he is going to hurt someone or get hurt as you said. When a dog gets aggressive enough to go after another dog it takes someone with experience with aggression to fix. This is not something that can fixed via email. I have had this exact same issue with my current beagle boy and even I got a trainer to come in and help. Please run not walk to your nearest trainer before this escalates out of hand! Good luck.....feel free to check back anytime
