Answer
Hello Heather!

Sounds like Disco is living up to her namesake every night.  :o)

Foot and head attacking during the night is quite common among kittens, and though it might help to get Disco a friend to play with, you might also at times wind up with TWO kittens attacking instead of just the one.

My recommendation is that you close your bedroom doors while you're sleeping.  In all honesty, though I would like to tell you otherwise, it's the most sure-fire way to curb the behaviour, as they are doing something that is purely instinct.

If you find that it's difficult to have the door closed (due to kitten crying/scratching at the doors), get a fan for each room to use as white noise so it doesn't bother your sleep.  Disco will stop scratching after a couple weeks.  Also, be sure not to try to tell her to stop scratching at the door, as it is simply a way to try to get your attention, and if you give her that attention, she will start scratching for that instead of to get into the room.

So, that's my recommendation...closing your bedroom doors at night.  I know it's nice to have a kitty on the bed, as I desired as well, but mine didn't calm down enough for something like that until recently, and they turned two in April.  :o)

Let me know your thoughts, and if this will work for you guys.  :o)

Hugs to you all!  And hopefully sound sleep here soon as well!  :o)
