Question
Do cats become more affectionate with age? My cat is almost 2 and seems to be getting more affectionate!

Answer
Hi James!

Yes, they often do, provided they are in a safe, loving environment. When they are under 2 and young and growing, play and honing instincts is a priority. As time goes on their activity level settles down, generally after 2.5 to 3 there is a shift, then again over 7 or so, then over 10-12, but i also have seen cats very active up until 17 (although that was a very rare case)!!
This usually coincides with enjoying more affection time.
Also, as they get older they'll sleep more and definitely get more affectionate if they feel safe and secure with a very loving owner!
Wait till your cat is 6, 10 or 18!

Thank you for inquiring!
