Question
Hi. I have a brother and sister feral cat that I have raised since they were babies. The male cat has just started chasing his sister and won't leave her alone. She never comes out of trees unless he's not around. She's gotten to the point to where she now wants to come in because of his harassment. It's ok that we bring her in they both have been fixed and gotten their shots just I have an indoor cat that hates everything and anyone. What can I do to teach the male kitty not to chase her? He's not afraid of water. Thanks in advanced.

Answer
So you've tried the water bottle and that has no effect, right? Try making a loud noise to scare the crap out of him or bring the hose out and hose him. How long has he been neutered? The problem with ferals is they have the wild in their blood and if was neutered too late, he's already got the habit down. Do they eat together? You could try keeping him confined somewhere so that his sister can actually come down from the tree. The thing is, he knows his sister won't do anything about it and so he sees no reason to stop. I have gotten pretty aggressive with my cats, I'm perfectly okay with grabbing them by the scruff and giving them a toss. I also don't care if my cats get pissed if I do something like that, they always get over it.
