New Kitties

Question
Hello, my name is Melanie and I am about to bring two new kitties into my home. About two months ago my parents had a stray cat show up on their back deck and being the animal lovers that we are we of course brought her in and started caring for her, well as it turns out she was pregnant and my parents now have 3 new kittens. My husband and I originally offered to take one of the kittens but as it turns out the "momma" cat isn't getting along with my parents other female cat that they have had for several years now, so they needed to find a home for the momma cat as well as one of the other kittens so we offered to take the momma kitty to. My only problem is that I also have a boxer and everytime I bring my boxer over to get used to the kitties before I bring them home the momma cat gets very aggresive (protecting her kittens) towards the dog. The dog and the kittens get along just fine but the momma kitty will attack the dog. Can you please give me some advice on how to get them adjusted to each other and how to keep the cat from hurting the dog? THANK YOU!

Answer
I don't deal with dogs, so I can't offer advice with this, yet I can tell you cats go by smell and if you use baby powder that is safe for the cats for a week, it will make all the cats be more like family than before. But I recommend asking someone else about your other question. Talk to a vet about the baby powder idea dn make sure it's safe for the cat. Good luck and sorry
