my cat spits up blood!!

my cat lily is 10 yrs old and has had stomach problems for a while but just today i walk into the kitchen and there was blood on the wall and on the counter and more on the floor it took me a while to find out where it came from it really freaked me out! but then i was in the bathroom and lily was in there too and ran out of the bathroom in a rush and i looked back and there it was again blood on the bottom wall and on the floor and i looked at her and her mouth was covered it was dripping from her chin and i got so scared i didnt know what to do so i called my vet and they said i cant really say nything over the phone bring her in and i cant get an appt until monday what do i do can you tell me why she is doing this and if shes dying i want to help her but dont know what to do i have heard of ifshe got poinsoned this can happen and there are 2 dead birds that were in my back yard is any of this related PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO I CAN HELP HER I DONT WANT HER TO DIE THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME BRANDI

I strongly suggest calling another vet.  I definitely do not think you should wait until Monday to take her in...she needs to be seen now if she is spitting up blood.  She needs to have an exam and possibly blood work if it is possible that she is poisoned.  If your normal vet can't see you until Monday because they have no doctor then I would suggest calling them to see who they might recommend.  Either way I think she needs immediate attention.
