do cats spray after they are fixed?

Do cats spray after they are fixed? I have been told that the do, and also that they do not. I have not had a problem yet, but I was going to get another cat, and I do not want my cat to spray.

Generally speaking, they will not spray after they are fixed because removing the testicles removes the testosterone that causes them to be territorial.  There are exceptions to every rule of course, and they are definitely still physically capable of spraying once they are neutered.  I have 8 cats in my house, 4 of them male, all neutered and I have never had any of them spray.  There's no sure way to tell, unfortunately, without bringing another cat into your house.
