Question
my cat is really loving and very healthy, however he crys all the time unless i am holding him or unless the tv is on and I am sitting down. It is really annoying and I can't get him to stop sometimes. Do you have any suggestions to help him stop? I have toys for him and play with him as much as i can, but i am gone alot too during the day. I always make sure he has food and water so thats not the problem...I have no idea what it is that makes him constantly meow. Its not like a loud meow, but more of just a whine. I appreciate your insight!

Answer
Sounds like maybe he's got separation anxiety issues.  Do you suppose getting another cat to keep him company while you're busy or gone might be a possibility?  I don't know how in the world my cats would get along without one another.  They really are a comfort to each other in the owner's absence.

The only other thing you could try is consulting a vet or animal behaviorist.  It might be he needs some exercises to help him get used to being alone, or even an antidepressant to control his anxiety.  As we are working more and more hours, problem behavior like this is becoming more common, but antidepressants are leading to some great results.  And many cats can be treated short term only.  The behavior corrects itself on the medication, and then the medication can be tapered off and discontinued.
