Cats tail is getting thinner

16:17:58

Question
Over the past weekend I noticed clumps of hair around the apartment. At first I figured it's just because it's spring and the cat is shedding. But tonight when I petted him I noticed his tail is thinner. Maybe 50% thinner than it used to be. He's still eating fine and doesn't show any signs of pain. The rest of his coat looks fine. Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Julie.  20 bucks says that your cat is just shedding his winter coat.  This will happen - regardless if your cat is an indoor only or an outdoor cat.  If it gets really bad, I'd suggest a quick trip to the vet as it could be an allergic reaction to something.  Don't freak out though... it's probably just shedding some winter fur.

Good luck!
