Tuching cats

QUESTION: My Cat just had kittens a week ago and I just wanted to know when can I start touching them and playing with them they do have there eye open.
ANSWER: Jordan,

If mama is willing to let you handle the kittens, than they can be handled as soon as they are born.  The more they get used to human handling, the more social they will become.

I would, of course, wash my hands before and after handling the kittens.

QUESTION: So can they be played with and brought into other rooms.

I would keep them close to mama until they are weaned.  I would not take them into another room as long as mama is nursing them.  Otherwise, she may get very concerned about the whereabouts of her kittens and start moving them once they are back with her.
