after giving birth

Question
My mama cat gave birth about a week ago. Although all of them are doing well, mama didi not get the cords cut off of them soon enough. Three of the babies had the cord on for too long and 2 of them lost one of their hind legs and the third did not make it at all. One day later the second of the three died also. Fortunately the third kitten is doing very well, three legs and all! My question is, how soon should i take my precious three legged "Peggy Sue"  to the vet to make sure her leg is not infected or any other problems that may have happened? sincerely amy

Answer
Hi Amy,

Sorry to hear what happened to the two little ones. You can take Peggy Sue right now to the vet. When you take her to the vet take mom also. The reason you want to do that is that sometimes, when you bring a cat or kitten back from the vet, the others at home will attack it because of the strange smells on it. Taking mom with you will take care of that problem. Hope all goes well. Good luck.

Ciao, Karen
