My cat has had her kittens but has not detached the umbilical cord from a few of the kittens or cleaned the after mess up.  Is this normal?  What do I need to do with the cords if she doesn't do it??

Hi Jodi,

No, this is not normal. You have to take a little thread (like dental floss), and tie off the cords. Then you need to cut them off about an inch in length. Clean up the afterbirth. Is she cleaning the kittens? And is she nursing them? Write back if she isn't doing either. Make sure they are warm. Good luck.
