gas!

i have a calico cat and very happy to have her. Well she could just be walking and have gas. Other times when she gets excited she has gas bad. She has ran us out of the room cause of it. My question is there something we can give her to control or stop it? Please we really want to know. Thanks.

I have a few questions that will hopefully help me get a clearer picture of why this kitty has such bad gas and what we can do to help her become less offensive.

- What brand of food is this kitty eating?

- Is she a recent rescue?

- If kitty is a recent rescue did she come to you emaciated or fairly thin?

- How frequently is kitty getting fed?

- Have you recently made any dietary or environmental changes for kitty?

- Is her diet made up primarily of traditional kibble, canned food or a homemade diet?

- Is this kitty really bad for begging for and successfully getting table scraps that she shouldn't have (my cats routinely eat cooked chicken, fish or beef without spices, condiments or sauces with no problem, I'm referring to things like ice cream, pastry, special treats that aren't really all that good for cats or us for that matter)?

- What is this kitty's overall health history?

Hopefully once I have a clearer idea of what's happening I'll be able to offer you some tips that might help to stop your kitty from being so gassy or at least from smelling quite so bad when she has gas. I look forward to hearing from you with a more complete history.
