DOESNT ALWAYS USE LITTER BOX

Over the past 6 weeks my newest cat (had her for 6 months) has started peeing in inappropriate places (my leather couch, on my down quilted bed).  I have no idea why.  Any ideas?

Is she spayed?  It sure sounds to me as if she may have come into her first season and is doing what many female cats in season do, pee in inappropriate places.

If she is already spayed, you may want to have her checked for a urinary tract infection or some other physical problem.

If she is spayed and has no medical problems, then something in your home has changed which makes her not want to use the litter pan.  You may have to do some detective work to sort this out.  To help you here is a link to an excellent series of articles on inappropriate litter box habits in felines:
