Question
four days ago, my male cat, 4 yrs old fell from 6th floor balcony landing on pavement. Vet checked him and everything seemed fine including his blood levels. Since then I've had to try feeding him and give him water. He is getting about four teaspoons of water and quarter of his intake for food every twenty four hours. He goes to his bowl, bends downs and just looks at it. He stays under my bed, he has been peeing but no bowl movements. He moves very slowly but seems alert. He has lost alot of weight. The fall broke his front tooth and he bit his tongue and has swelling on his lower lip area. I can't take him to the vet again, it already cost me $1,000. I hope you can give me some insight and advice. Thank you

Answer
I know you asked this a while ago but I do not always check the question pool. But when I did today and saw your entry, I had to write. You have answered the question really; while tehir may be something the vet missed, the obvious problem is that he has a broken tooth, bit tongue and swollen lip. Imagine if you had those conditions; you wouldn't be eating much either. But meanwhile he is wasting away from lack of eating. He needs more medical attention. He may need, just as a human would, an IV (intravenous) form of nutrition. And of course even his regular food must be only soft canned food if he is to attempt to eat. I sure do hope that he is/was able to get through this.
