we found our cat

we moved out to fort Irwin CA, our cat slipped out the  back sliders ( normally an inside cat) we bought a cat trap to catch him,  after being gone for 7 weeks he is home. we think he was surviving by eating dog food.  what I've noticed is that he use to be all grey and now has patches of white fur on his chest and tummy, was this caused by his poor diet? (we do plan on taking him to the vet to get checked up on)

Yes, they do change after being outside - their coats from stress, and you'll probably notice a chance in personality too - more cautious, a bit more leery - This is normal and they will settle back down after a while of being back inside your loving home.

Do have him checked for FIV/FIVL, fleas, ear mites and such as he may have come in contact with goodness knows what other things cats outdoors may have!

What a GREAT kitty mom you are getting him back!  Huzzah!
