Ragdoll cat always losing hair

Question
We have a ragdoll called Wally and he's just turned two. He is gorgeous, and cheeky, but he seems to be malting 24/7. He has been doing this for atleast a year and a half and it seems to be getting worse. When you pick him up you'll be covered in hair. Sometimes theres clumps of hair. He is not balding, he's malting all over. We don't let him outside, his skin looks good and we try to feed him good quality dry and wet food (but no fish). Our house is turning into a fur ball. What should we do?

Answer
Hi Carina,

First off take him to the vet. There are a lot of diseases that can cause hair loss. There are also some parasites that will cause this. Next try changing his food. He may have an allergy to his food. What about fleas? Does he get flea treatments? Flea allergies can also cause hair loss. Check out all these things and see how he is. Let me know what you find out. Good luck.

Ciao, Karen
