Runaway kitty

Question
I am writing to ask about my little cat Haley who ran away this morning.
To give some background.... She is about 7 or 8 months old and has lived with us only 2 months.  A friend of ours told us about her.  She had seen Haley in her neighborhood hanging out with two adult cats.  Our friend fed them and the adult cats were always good about letting Haley eat with them.  We think that one of the cats she ran with was her father.  Anyway, we were able to trap her and bring her to our house where she seems to have settled in with us and our other two cats fairly well.
Until she came to us, she was outside all the time and never lived with humans.  In the two months we have had her,she has not been outside because she is a little skitsy with us yet and we wanted to be very cautions.

She gets along really well with our male cat Theo who is 3 but not as well with our female cat Munchie who is 7.

This morning, I stepped outside and left the door open a bit.  Haley stepped out and when I realized she was out I think I spooked her and she ran around the side of our house and hid in our neighbors bushes.  When I tried to get her, she ran back the way she came and took off down the other side of our house.  We have not been able to find her since.  She is used to being outside from before we got her and I don't know what to do to find her.

We believe she will come back but she has never been around our house outside to know the territory.  Our other cats make the rounds of our neighbors homes within a close distance and we are hoping that maybe she will find their scents and come home.

Also, she is a little cat but a huge eater.  She will get hungry and I am hoping she will remember where we are and how much food we give her and come back.

Please give me any ideas or clues or help that you can.  The neighbors on each side of us know she is missing and I don't know what to think about how far she will go.  She has been spayed if that makes any difference.

Thank you so much and sorry for the rambling.  I am really desperate to get her back.  She is just a wonderful little cat.

Answer
Cats usually don't roam too far. She might be hard to find tho if she is sleeping or hiding in a tight space.. look underneath cars, under houses..they like to hide in tight places to feel safe. You can also get one of those traps they use to catch feral cats and put food in it so if she's hanging out nearby..also put her picture and description
out on the street poles. Offering a reward would help. Put an ad in the newspaper and also drop a flyer off at all nearby vets. Be sure to check the nearby shelters daily too
and leave a flyer with them. You could also "hire" someone to search for your cat while you're at work
