cat ready to give birth

my cat is ready to give birth but there is a very fishy smell coming of her im not sure were it is coming from but its a realy strong smell

That is not a good sign at all. I would get her to the vet immediately! sounds like she has an infection in a mammary gland or her uterus and either can be serious. Perhaps she has a dead kitten inside her? Please let me know what the vet says. Teresa
