my cats black spots on their lips

how do i know if my cat's black spots on his lips are cancer? well his  bottom lip is now covered with a black line of spots like lip liner its growing. but little on the roof  a lot on his top lip.

black spots on lips and noses are often scars from fights etc and are totally harmless. My own cat has a black spot on her nose and lip, they don't go away.

I think if the spots began to grow like a wart i.e like a little lump then i may suggest that you could get them checked by a vet who could test them. But generally black marks like this is nothing to worry about.
