Birthing

Hi

My persian has just given birth (her 2nd litter, 1st litter still born). This time 1st  kitten very small and 2 kitten even smaller, with bulging eyes. I don't think I will be breeding from her again.  This litter I think was only about day 59 so premature.  Mother has cleaned them up but doesn't seem to be interested in trying to feed them, I think she has more to come.
Have you any advice why she delivers premature.

Unfortunately I am not a veterinarian so I don't know all of the causes of prematurity in kittens, I would recommend that you speak to your vet and consider having her thoroughly assessed medically as this may hold the answers to the heartbreaking issues surrounding your queen's pregnancies and deliveries. Unfortunately sometimes queens reject their babies and this means that you may have to step in and try hand rearing these babies to keep them alive.
