Question
Hello Norman,

I want to thank you in advance for your time and help.

My cat had her first litter of 6 siamese kittens on February 12. All of the kittens and mom seem to be in excellent health. Today she was lying on her side while I was petting her, and I could feel a few small lumps in her abdomen (nearer to her spine). They are smaller than a grape but larger than a pea.

Is this normal after delivery (part of the uterus regaining it's normal shape) or should I be making an appointment with our veterinarian? If she needs to be examined, should I consider it an emergency? She's eating, drinking, eliminating and urinating just fine, and is her normal spunky, playful self. She does not appear to be in any pain or discomfort, there are no signs of fever, no diarrhea or vomiting.

Thanks again.

Answer
Emily,

No, I do not think this is normal, but, remember, I am not a vet.  They may be nothing, but I would make an appointment to have them checked out.  You can leave the kittens alone as they are getting to the age you can think about weaning them.

Please let me know what your vet finds out.

Concerned regards... Norm
