New cat and Old Cat

Question
My wife and I have talked about a new kitten for some time and two days ago we did it, then when we got home we just let the new kitten out. As you can assume things did not go well.  I looked up some ways online for introductions, but it seems we screwed up the initial meeting.  The older cat (Persian mix) initially stayed in our bed room for the first day and then it came out yesterday, but is acting some what normal it hisses at the kitten and on a few occasions it has swatted at the kitten.  The kitten (grey tabby) normally curls up or hides it occasionally hisses back.  Is there any way to help fix it and how long will it take to do so if possible?

Answer
Hi Jaysen,

You didn't screw it up. Since it is a kitten it's not too bad. It sounds like they are just going to need a little time. Just make sure you spend some special time with each one. All should be fine in a week or so. If it isn't write back and I'll help you. Good luck.

Ciao, Karen
