feline pregnany

Question
We got our male cat fixed about 1 month ago, but before we got him fixed he managed to get our female cat pregnant. The only thing is is that they are from the same litter.  Is this going to cause a problem with her pregnany and kittens?

Answer
Breeding brother and sister can cause problems with the immunity and general health of the kittens. But there is no way to tell in advance. Just keep a close eye on the kittens or else have the female spayed now and do not have the kittens at all. She should be spayed anyway.

Males can usually impregnate females for at least a month after they are neutered.

I wish you good luck.
