pregnant cat in heat

Question
Hi,

My female persian is currently about 37 days pregnant and in heat at the same time. So since she is in heat, she is not eating that much as she should. Will this be affecting her unborn babies? Is it a good idea to bring her out of heat by using a cotton swab?

Thanks

Answer
It is very possible or your cat to be having a break through heat though it is usually a very weak heat.  It will not hurt her kittens as long as it doesn't go on for too long.

I really would't recommending using a cotton swab as you may risk introducing infection into the vagina which may travel up and harm the kittens.
