Cat eating clothing

Question
My 1 1/2 year old cat is eating our socks, gloves, waist bands(on pajama pants and mens underwear); most of the clothing had just been washed.  It started when I bought her the catnip mini mice toys(she was just about 1 year old).  She played with them for about a minute and then ate them, then her cloth toy and now all of our socks.  I don't mean she is just chewing on them, she is eating the material.  We haven't noticed her passing the material, but she goes potty mostly outside.  She isn't looking ill or thin and still has a good appetite.  What could cause this?? What can we do besides, never have clothing in her sight??  We are puzzled.

Answer
Your cat has a condition called PICA (aka- Im NOT supposed to eat that stuff but I do!)

The most you can do is lots of attention to keep her occupied and keep clothes up and out of her way. They can cause blockages.

You may also want to take her to the vet for a metabolic screen to make sure the is not deficient in any of her body functions.

good luck!
